1. A History of Racial Injustice 

Let's learn more about the history of racial injustice in the USA. Here is your first mission:

Student 1:  Describe the picture to your neighbor as precisely as you can. 

Student 2: You will have to listen to your partner and draw the picture. 

If you are alone at home you will have to describe the picture as precisely as you can. 

Hey! Well done to the artists! This picture tells the story of racism in the United States of America. This is the awful legacy of what was called slavery. Be careful ! Slavery was before segregation. But before discovering the history of segregation you are going to need words to talk about it. 

Here is your mission! 

You have to write on a sheet of paper everything that comes to your mind concerning the segregation in the USA. ( Verbs, nouns, adjectives, dates, events, people etc...) Create your own mind map

Now, we are going to learn more about Martin Luther King's dream. It is a famous speech but it is also a well written speech. A speech is like a song and the author uses different stylistic devices to give it more power and emotions. Let's discover how it works.

Hey! Welcome back! 😎 You did a great job with the speech because it was not easy. Words have power and it is important for you to know it. Now that you have studied the most famous speech of Martin Luther King it is time for you to study one of Malcolm X's speeches and to learn more about him. Here is your mission! 

1) Read the text. 

2) Write Malcolm X's biography by using the information given in the text. Be careful ! You have to change the tense of the verbs. The poor man is dead now.
